The award for Best Film program 2009 goes to the Joris Ivens retrospective in Leipzig

The Bundesarchiv-Filmarchiv in Berlin received the award from the DEFA-Stiftung for the retrospective that they held during the DOK Leipzig filmfestival. The award was given to Wolfgang Klaue for his enormous contribution as beholder of German film history in his function as President of the FIAF and head of the Staatlichen Filmarchivs der DDR.
Every year the Bundesarchiv organises a retrospective with films from their archive during the DOK Leipzig film festival. The 50th edition was about Ivens his work.
