The Joris Ivens Archives of the European Foundation Joris Ivens have been deposited with the Municipal Archives of Nijmegen. The Archives can be consulted through the assistance of the reading room of the Municipal Archives during opening hours. A paper copy of the inventory can be consulted, but it is also accessible on the computers in the reading room. JIA***, where in place of *** the inventory number must be mentioned, as can be found with the relevant records. No more than the inventory can, do the Joris Ivens Archives give a complete picture of the person and the filmmaker Joris Ivens. This inventory cannot therefore be considered as a biography or filmography. For example not all the film projects mentioned in this inventory have actually been realized. From this it appears that this inventory is a source for and not the result of research. And as said before: there is still much to be researched.
